The sports tradition of Angels in Heaven School is celebrated once again. A three-day sports fest dated August 24 – 26 was held for the students of the high school department. Just as early as August, the annual intramurals was held at the Cabuyao Gymnasium where teamwork, sportsmanship camaraderie and friendship was fostered.
The said event took place for two day at the said venue and the last day was held at the AHS Campus in Sala. There were variety of games played: basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, sack race, obstacle course and fun of it all tug of war. It was full of fun and excitement as we, students, were able to express our sport ingenuity, thus, making it even enjoyable. This gave a chance to other students to bring out the best in them, physically and mentally as well.
This event showed how each student gave his/her best for the benefit of the whole class, though there were different emotions shown, still, what astound many is the friendship which brought everyone closer as one big family of the high school department.
August 24, 2009 – The first day of our sportsfest. Everyone was very much prepared for that day. The games started with a ceremony, followed by intermission numbers by selected high school students who were cheered loudly by their classmates. Tr. Rhenee Manacsa started it all by shouting, hep, hep, hurray!!!! Then, the game began. The first game played was male basketball . Everyone cheered for their team, but we knew for a fact that, only one can emerge victorious.
The juniors won over the sophomores and in the second round, the juniors again gained victory over the freshmen. August 25, 2009 – The second day began with a dance number from the sophomores. On this day, the competition heated up because of the tension it brought about by the game played by the sophomore versus juniors in the volleyball match.
Nonetheless, Freshmen dominated the games for the volleyball girls. August 26, 2009 – This day was the most awaited day of all the students…we held this last day at the AHS campus in Sala, Cabuyao, Laguna.
Despite the heat of the sun, the competition was still on going. The game started with a volleyball wherein the sophomores won over the freshmen and juniors, and lastly the obstacle course, where the juniors got disqualified. With all of the games played, whoever won the game, the thing is, everybody participated and showed up. Win or lose.. friendship reigned.
